I was lucky enough to be invited to a 21st birthday party this week - with three days to go. The young lady in question adores hearts and pink and black, another combo I wouldn't craft with normally but what the hell? So on Tuesday I helped with the invitations, on Wednesday I made a card that looked like this (except that in real life, it wasn't so blurry - MacroMacroMacroWhoForgotMacro) :
and on Thursday I made a present with a nod in the direction of the wonderful Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts. If you're tempted to buy this book, don't waste any time dithering. It's awesome. I've made a few crepe and tissue paper flowers lately and they are soooo satisfying and Zen to play with. So my speedy gift ended up like this:
If only I finished things early enough to capture them in daylight... Happy crafting! And if you're tempted to try something similar, I recommend your local card shop for tissue/crepe paper and plush gift bags ripe for butchering :)
